MR. PSYC — MEDICAL DISCLAIMER
Version 1.1 — Effective 5 November 2025 Contact: info@mrpsyc.in | +91 82955 45210 This Medical Disclaimer (“Disclaimer”) constitutes a binding legal document governing Your use of all mental-health, counselling, psychiatric, behavioural, wellness, screening, self-help, digital programs, tele-consultations, educational content, AI-generated insights, articles, blogs, evaluations, and any associated services (“Services”) offered by Mr. Psyc (operated by its parent entity) (“Company”, “We”, “Us”, “Our”). By accessing, using, engaging with, or relying upon any information or service provided through Our website, mobile applications, digital platforms, counselling interfaces, LMS training modules, AI nurturing systems, or related communication channels, You acknowledge that You have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to be legally bound by this Disclaimer. This Disclaimer is drafted to ensure absolute clarity regarding the nature, scope, limitations, and boundaries of all Services rendered by the Company. Mental-health and psychiatric support, whether provided digitally or in person, inherently varies in impact, effectiveness, and response based on numerous personal, biological, environmental, medical, psychological, and contextual factors. The User expressly agrees that mental-health information, screenings, digital content, nurturing messages, and educational material cannot and must not be regarded as medical advice, diagnosis, prescription, or definitive clinical guidance unless issued directly and explicitly by a licensed psychiatrist or medical practitioner in accordance with applicable laws. The Company provides mental-health wellness support, counselling, behavioural guidance, habit-building interventions, reflective exercises, general wellbeing information, and educational insights. While these Services may contribute to psychological wellness, they are not a substitute for acute medical care, emergency psychiatric treatment, hospitalization, in-person clinical evaluation, or any form of regulated medical intervention necessary for the safeguarding of life or physical health. In addition, all Users acknowledge that psychiatric services, where offered, are subject to strict regulatory guidelines, professional limitations, jurisdictional compliance, and telemedicine restrictions. Not every condition can be diagnosed or treated through tele-psychiatry. At any point, the psychiatrist may instruct the User to undergo offline assessment, laboratory testing, imaging, medical supervision, or hospitalization. Non-adherence to such advice is solely the User’s responsibility. The Company disclaims all liability arising from misuse, misinterpretation, or over-reliance on the Service. The User agrees that no information provided on the platform shall be construed as an alternative to medical judgment.
1. NO MEDICAL OR CLINICAL ADVICE
All content delivered by the Company—including articles, videos, psychological tips, AI-generated nurturing messages, blogs, educational materials, questionnaires, digital programs, behavioural suggestions, therapist notes, screening scores, and supportive resources—is strictly for general mental-health awareness, emotional wellbeing, behavioural improvement, and psycho-educational purposes only. Such content does not constitute:
  1. medical advice,
  2. clinical diagnosis,
  3. psychiatric evaluation,
  4. medical prescription,
  5. treatment recommendation,
  6. emergency intervention,
  7. therapeutic outcome guarantee,
  8. professional medical instructions,
  9. medical risk assessment, or
  10. any clinical determination normally provided by a licensed healthcare provider.
The User agrees that no article, video, blog, message, or digital content shall be regarded as a substitute for medical consultation with a certified psychiatrist, physician, or licensed healthcare professional. The information provided is general and does not consider individual medical history, comorbidities, physical symptoms, biological conditions, psychiatric disorders, medication effects, or environmental factors.
2. LIMITATIONS OF TELE-COUNSELLING AND DIGITAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
Tele-counselling and digital therapeutic conversations are subject to inherent limitations. These include:
  1. inability to conduct physical examination,
  2. incomplete observation of body language due to technical constraints,
  3. dependency on User-provided history,
  4. device-related disruptions,
  5. environmental privacy limitations on the User’s end,
  6. jurisdictionally restricted medical permissions.
The User acknowledges that the inability to observe physical symptoms, neurological signs, or medical red flags significantly limits the scope of digital mental-health assessment. Therefore, counsellors may recommend in-person therapy, psychiatric referral, or emergency medical care where required. Counsellors, psychologists, and behavioural experts on the platform are NOT authorized to:
  • prescribe medication,
  • issue medical certificates,
  • provide medico-legal reports,
  • diagnose physical illnesses,
  • interpret laboratory results,
  • issue fitness-for-work/fitness-for-school certificates,
  • handle court-mandated therapy requirements,
  • manage severe psychiatric disorders independently.
The User agrees not to request such services from counsellors. Any attempt to coerce, persuade, or compel counsellors into providing medical opinions constitutes a violation of this Disclaimer and may result in account termination.
3. LIMITATIONS OF TELE-PSYCHIATRY
Where psychiatric services are provided, the psychiatrist is a qualified medical practitioner authorized to give medical advice within the limits of telemedicine regulations. However, such online consultations are governed by strict boundaries:
  1. Certain psychiatric conditions CANNOT be diagnosed or treated online, including but not limited to:
    • severe suicidal ideation,
    • acute psychosis,
    • violent or homicidal behaviour,
    • severe mania,
    • substance intoxication,
    • withdrawal emergencies,
    • delirium,
    • conditions requiring hospitalization.
  2. The psychiatrist may issue only limited prescriptions permitted under telemedicine law.
  3. The psychiatrist may refuse to provide a diagnosis or medication if the digital environment is clinically unsafe.
  4. The psychiatrist may insist on physical examination, hospitalization, laboratory tests, or offline clinical supervision if required for safety or diagnostic accuracy.
  5. The psychiatrist may discontinue digital treatment if the User’s mental state suggests risk to self or others.
  6. Failure to follow a psychiatrist’s instruction to seek emergency care is solely the User’s responsibility.
No refund, liability, or claim shall be entertained if the User refuses medically advised offline evaluation.
4. SCREENINGS, SELF-ASSESSMENTS, AND DIGITAL SCORES ARE NOT DIAGNOSTIC
Digital mental-health screenings, questionnaires, or self-assessment tools provided by the Company are for preliminary awareness only and do not constitute:
  • psychiatric diagnosis,
  • psychological evaluation,
  • medical test,
  • certified report,
  • clinical scoring,
  • validated mental-health assessment comparable to in-person testing.
These tools provide indicative insights meant to encourage Users to seek professional evaluation when required. The User agrees that:
  1. Screening scores are not definitive.
  2. Screening results cannot be used for insurance, medical certification, or legal proceedings.
  3. Scores may vary based on subjective inputs, mood fluctuations, or interpretation errors.
  4. Screenings cannot detect medical conditions such as thyroid disorders, neurological issues, vitamin deficiencies, or hormonal imbalances that may mimic mental-health symptoms.
Any evaluation requiring a clinical diagnosis must be conducted by a licensed psychiatrist or psychologist using comprehensive tools.
5. NO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SUPPORT
The Services provided by the Company are not suitable for handling emergencies. The platform does NOT provide:
  • crisis hotlines,
  • ambulance assistance,
  • emergency medical care,
  • suicide rescue interventions,
  • hospitalization arrangements,
  • emergency psychiatric stabilization,
  • immediate crisis support.
If the User is experiencing:
  • suicidal thoughts,
  • self-harm behaviour,
  • thoughts of harming others,
  • hallucinations,
  • severe agitation,
  • violent urges,
  • blackout episodes,
  • substance overdose,
  • withdrawal symptoms,
  • seizures,
  • or any medical emergency,
the User MUST immediately contact local emergency services, visit the nearest hospital, or call available national helplines. By using this platform, You acknowledge that Mr. Psyc is not an emergency service and must not be relied upon for crisis intervention.
6. AI-GENERATED RESPONSES AND AUTOMATED NURTURING ARE NOT MEDICAL ADVICE
The Company employs AI-based nurturing systems to deliver habit-building prompts, reflective exercises, general mental-health reminders, psycho-educational tips, wellbeing insights, and behavioural encouragement. AI systems:
  • do NOT diagnose mental-health disorders,
  • do NOT prescribe medication,
  • do NOT predict risk,
  • do NOT replace qualified professionals,
  • do NOT evaluate User emotions clinically,
  • do NOT assess suicide risk or emergency states,
  • do NOT issue treatment plans or clinical instructions.
Any AI content is strictly supplementary. Users must consult qualified counsellors or psychiatrists for:
  • medical questions,
  • medication safety queries,
  • psychiatric symptoms,
  • treatment decisions,
  • clinical advice,
  • mental-health risk assessment.
The Company disclaims liability for misinterpretation or over-dependence on automated content.
7. COUNSELLORS AND PSYCHOLOGISTS DO NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL SERVICES
Counsellors, psychologists, and behavioural experts associated with the Company are trained in mental-health support but are not medical practitioners. Therefore, they:
  • cannot prescribe medication,
  • cannot recommend dosage changes,
  • cannot advise discontinuation of psychiatric drugs,
  • cannot provide medical clearance,
  • cannot interpret laboratory results,
  • cannot provide treatment for neurological conditions,
  • cannot provide legal fitness reports,
  • cannot diagnose medical illnesses masquerading as psychological issues.
The User agrees not to treat counsellor guidance as clinical instruction.
8. USER RESPONSIBILITY FOR MEDICAL CONDITIONS
The User is solely responsible for:
  1. disclosing all medical history,
  2. informing the professional of prior diagnoses,
  3. communicating medication usage,
  4. revealing ongoing treatments,
  5. sharing history of hospitalization or suicidal episodes,
  6. informing about substance use or withdrawal symptoms,
  7. following professional advice regarding medical evaluation,
  8. seeking emergency care when recommended.
The Company shall not be liable for complications arising from nondisclosure or partial disclosure of relevant physical or psychiatric information.
9. NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS OR OUTCOMES
The User understands and agrees that mental-health progress varies significantly depending on individual circumstances. Counselling, psychotherapy, behavioural coaching, psychiatric consultation, nurturing programs, and digital interventions do not produce uniform outcomes. No counsellor, psychologist, behavioural expert, psychiatrist, AI system, or digital program can guarantee:
  • emotional relief,
  • reduction of symptoms,
  • behavioural improvement,
  • therapeutic progress,
  • psychiatric stabilization,
  • medication efficacy,
  • motivational consistency,
  • sustained habit formation,
  • adherence to treatment plans,
  • complete resolution of psychological distress.
By engaging with the Services, the User acknowledges that mental-health outcomes depend on several factors outside the Company’s control, including personal commitment, lifestyle, adherence to recommendations, biological predispositions, environmental influences, medical conditions, trauma history, personality structure, medication responses, and the User’s willingness to participate in treatment. Therapeutic interventions may also initially increase emotional discomfort, self-awareness, or distress before improvement occurs. This is a known therapeutic phenomenon. Such temporary discomfort is not grounds for liability, refund, or medical claim against the Company. The Company expressly denies any warranty, guarantee, or promise of specific results. Reliance on any expectation of guaranteed improvement constitutes a violation of this Disclaimer.
10. NO DOCTOR–PATIENT RELATIONSHIP FOR NON-PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES
Unless a User explicitly books and engages in a session with a licensed psychiatrist through the Company’s designated tele-psychiatry interface, no doctor–patient relationship is established. Psychological counselling, behavioural guidance, digital wellbeing programs, LMS content, online community support, AI-based nurturing, and general mental-health information do NOT constitute medical treatment. The following activities do NOT create a doctor–patient relationship:
  1. engaging with digital content or articles,
  2. reading blogs, newsletters, or insights,
  3. following self-help recommendations,
  4. using AI-based assistance,
  5. participating in non-clinical behavioural programs,
  6. chatting with support staff,
  7. attending general wellbeing webinars,
  8. interacting with counsellors who are not medical practitioners,
  9. submitting screening scores online,
  10. completing digital assessments.
A genuine doctor–patient relationship exists only when a licensed psychiatrist directly evaluates the User, consistent with medical law, and communicates medical advice within the scope of telemedicine regulations. Any assumption of medical relationship outside these conditions is strictly prohibited.
11. RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH MENTAL-HEALTH SERVICES
The User acknowledges that mental-health support—whether counselling or psychiatric—may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
  • emotional discomfort or distress,
  • resurfacing of traumatic memories,
  • temporary increase in anxiety,
  • development of emotional dependence,
  • distress during self-reflection,
  • destabilization due to unaddressed medical conditions,
  • side effects from psychiatric medication (if prescribed),
  • adverse reaction to behaviour change techniques,
  • misunderstanding therapeutic guidance,
  • subjective discomfort during sessions,
  • miscommunication inherent to digital interfaces.
The User accepts these risks voluntarily and agrees not to attribute the outcomes of therapeutic or psychiatric engagement to Company negligence unless proven in accordance with governing law. Additionally, the User acknowledges that psychiatric medications—where prescribed—may carry risks, including but not limited to:
  • mood swings,
  • drowsiness,
  • agitation,
  • gastrointestinal issues,
  • dizziness,
  • allergic reactions,
  • suicidal ideation (especially in adolescents),
  • cognitive impairment,
  • dependency risk (in certain drug categories),
  • withdrawal symptoms,
  • interactions with other medications.
The psychiatrist shall inform the User of major risks; however, the User remains solely responsible for:
  1. adhering to dosage,
  2. reporting adverse effects,
  3. not altering medication without instruction,
  4. fulfilling follow-up consultation requirements,
  5. avoiding contraindicated substances (e.g., alcohol),
  6. providing full medical history.
Failure to comply may result in adverse outcomes for which the Company bears no liability.
12. LIMITATIONS OF DIGITAL COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY
Digital platforms involve software complexity, data transmission, reliance on internet networks, and device-level functionality. Accordingly, the User acknowledges that:
  1. technical delays may impair communication,
  2. camera or microphone issues may affect therapeutic clarity,
  3. internet instability may disrupt psychiatric examinations,
  4. device noise may hinder privacy or accuracy,
  5. digital communication may omit non-verbal cues essential for clinical judgment,
  6. audio/video lags may distort expression,
  7. environmental factors (noise, interruptions) may compromise therapeutic engagement.
The User shall not hold the Company liable for clinical or therapeutic limitations arising from digital interactions. Any decisions or interpretations made based on incomplete digital information shall be at the User’s own risk.
13. USER RESPONSIBILITY TO SEEK IN-PERSON MEDICAL CARE WHEN NECESSARY
The Company may, at any time, instruct the User to seek immediate in-person medical evaluation or psychiatric intervention. Reasons may include:
  • severe depression,
  • intense anxiety,
  • hallucinations or delusions,
  • suicidal ideation,
  • aggressive behaviour,
  • panic attacks with physical symptoms,
  • medication side effects,
  • substance withdrawal,
  • neurological symptoms,
  • blackout episodes,
  • severe insomnia,
  • significant mood instability,
  • psychomotor agitation,
  • cognitive disorientation.
Failure to comply—even if due to subjective reluctance—shall be solely the User’s responsibility. The User agrees that refusal to seek offline medical care despite recommendation shall nullify any liability claims against the Company or its professionals.
14. ACCURACY OF USER-PROVIDED INFORMATION
Mental-health support depends heavily on User-provided information regarding:
  • symptoms,
  • emotional states,
  • behavioural patterns,
  • medical history,
  • medication use,
  • trauma history,
  • lifestyle habits,
  • substance use,
  • social environment,
  • sleep patterns.
The User agrees that inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or withheld information may result in inappropriate recommendations, ineffective therapeutic direction, or delayed diagnosis. The Company is not responsible for any consequences arising from:
  • inaccurate self-reports,
  • deliberate concealment,
  • exaggeration,
  • miscommunication,
  • selective disclosure,
  • omission of critical facts.
No refund, liability, or compensation shall apply in such situations.
15. NO MEDICAL OR LEGAL FITNESS CERTIFICATION
The Company does not provide:
  • fitness-to-work certificates,
  • fitness-to-study certificates,
  • medico-legal documentation,
  • legal affidavits,
  • court-mandated therapy reports,
  • certification for disability benefits,
  • official diagnostic letters for legal disputes,
  • workplace accommodation documentation,
  • government-required mental-health certificates.
Requests for such documents shall not be entertained. Counsellors and psychologists are not authorized to issue such certifications. Psychiatrists may issue appropriate documentation only under in-person clinical settings, in accordance with jurisdictional requirements. Tele-psychiatry documentation is restricted by law.
16. EXTERNAL LINKS, CONTENT, AND THIRD-PARTY MATERIAL
Any blogs, articles, hyperlinks, wellness resources, references, or third-party content presented on the Company platform are for educational purposes only. The Company does not endorse, control, verify, or guarantee the accuracy or safety of external sources. Reliance on third-party information is entirely at the User’s risk. The Company bears no liability for:
  • medical advice presented elsewhere,
  • inaccuracies in external content,
  • misinterpretation of linked resources,
  • outdated or harmful information found on third-party websites,
  • consequences of following third-party suggestions.
17. PHYSICAL HEALTH CONDITIONS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SYMPTOMS
Many physical illnesses can manifest with psychological symptoms, including:
  • thyroid disorders,
  • hormonal imbalances,
  • vitamin deficiencies,
  • neurological disorders,
  • infections,
  • cardiological issues,
  • pulmonary conditions,
  • diabetes,
  • sleep disorders,
  • chronic pain syndromes.
Conversely, psychological distress may manifest physically. The User agrees that digital mental-health services cannot detect, diagnose, or treat underlying medical conditions. Users must consult qualified physicians for:
  • blood tests,
  • imaging,
  • physical examinations,
  • endocrinological evaluation,
  • neurological evaluation.
Failure to rule out physical causes may lead to delayed diagnosis, for which the Company disclaims liability.
18. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the Company, its officers, directors, counsellors, psychiatrists, employees, affiliates, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any damages arising from:
  • reliance on digital content,
  • misinterpretation of advice,
  • emotional discomfort,
  • side effects of prescribed medication,
  • failure to seek emergency care,
  • omissions in User disclosure,
  • technological failures,
  • miscommunication in digital sessions,
  • inability to achieve expected psychological outcomes,
  • self-harm or harm to others arising from non-compliance with instructions,
  • delays caused by network issues,
  • subjective dissatisfaction with therapeutic style.
The User acknowledges and agrees that mental-health interventions inherently involve uncertainty and complexity. The Company does not guarantee safety in cases of deliberate self-harm risk or refusal of recommended care.
19. LEGAL COMPLIANCE AND PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
The Company and its professionals operate in accordance with:
  • Indian mental-health laws,
  • Telemedicine Practice Guidelines,
  • clinical ethics,
  • confidentiality norms,
  • data protection mandates,
  • professional licensing requirements,
  • jurisdictional restrictions.
The User agrees that any instruction, request, or expectation beyond these boundaries shall be denied, and no liability shall arise from such denial.
20. FINAL AGREEMENT
This Disclaimer constitutes the complete understanding regarding the medical and non-medical nature of the Company’s Services. By using the platform, the User irrevocably acknowledges all limitations, responsibilities, risks, and boundaries outlined in this document. The User confirms that:
